Signal / About
I'm Alexia — a first-year undergraduate working at the boundary of neuroscience and computation. My focus is non-invasive brain-computer interfaces: reading EEG, extracting intent from noise, and turning thought into control signals.
I study Intelligent Medical Engineering (BCI direction) at the Shenzhen Future Technology Institute, a joint institute of Tianjin University — one of China's earliest homes of BCI research — and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I build things along the way: most recently a real-time classroom translator, with more systems in the pipeline.
Long-term, I want to help make neural interfaces that are affordable, wearable, and genuinely useful — outside the lab, in everyday life.
Research Interests
EEG Decoding
Extracting motor imagery and cognitive states from non-invasive scalp EEG with machine learning.
Neural Signal Processing
Filtering, feature extraction, and artifact removal for noisy real-world brain signals.
Neurofeedback Systems
Closed-loop interfaces that let users see and shape their own brain activity in real time.
Applied ML for BCI
Deep learning models that make brain-signal classification faster, smaller, and deployable.
Projects
ClassRTTranslator2077
A real-time classroom translator: live speech recognition and translation that turns lectures into readable subtitles — built for students sitting in front of a foreign-language blackboard at 8 a.m.
↗ P-02Calculus
A bilingual vocabulary site for studying calculus in English: 229 core terms with IPA, CN/EN definitions and KaTeX-rendered formulas, flashcards with spaced repetition, quizzes, and 9 interactive 2D/3D visualizations that make limits, derivatives and integrals visible.
↗Slot Reserved
Future work in neural decoding, wearables, or whatever breaks first.
